Lucknow, April 25, 2025 – The Oudh Bar Association, High Court, Lucknow, has brought a critical safety concern to light following a fire incident in a standing car in F-Block on May 24, 2025. In a letter addressed to the Senior Registrar, the Association expressed gratitude to the fire department personnel for extinguishing the blaze but highlighted a serious issue: the fire equipment and extinguishers installed in the basement parking area are reportedly non-functional.
The letter, signed by R.D. Shahi, President of the Oudh Bar Association, urged the High Court Administration to take action against the service provider, Nirman Nigam, for its failure to maintain functional fire safety equipment. The Association emphasized that the safety of the High Court and its legal fraternity should not be taken lightly, calling for immediate measures to address the lapse.
A copy of the letter has been forwarded to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Uttar Pradesh for further attention, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
