Second National Lok Adalat of 2025 to be held across 28 states and UTs on May 10

The event will be conducted under the leadership of CJI Sanjiv Khanna, and CJI designate Justice BR Gavai.

The second National Lok Adalat of 2025 is set to be organized across 28 states and union territories (UTs) on May 10 under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).

In some states and UTs where courts remain closed due to summer vacations, the Lok Adalat will be held on later dates. These include Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana on June 14; Andaman and Nicobar Islands on June 21, Andhra Pradesh on July 5 and Gujarat & Karnataka on July 12.

The upcoming National Lok Adalat will address a wide range of disputes at both pre-litigation and pending stages, including:

  • Criminal compoundable offenses
  • Traffic challans
  • Plea bargaining
  • Revenue cases
  • Bank recovery matters
  • Motor accident claims
  • Cheque dishonour cases
  • Labour disputes
  • Matrimonial disputes (excluding divorce cases)
  • Land acquisition cases
  • Intellectual property rights (IPR) matters
  • Consumer matters and other civil cases
